Charlotte Plains is a family-owned, operated sheep station and campground, near Cunnamulla – Queensland. Our Artesian Hot Springs offer a naturally heated water park for guests wishing to soak in the warm mineral-rich water, while taking in the stunning views of the surrounding landscape. 

In addition to the Hot Springs, Charlotte Plains offers an authentic Australian outback experience, giving visitors a unique glimpse into life on a working sheep station. Guests can explore the property at their own pace with self-drive audio tours, and enjoy the rich diversity of birdlife and abundant wildlife around the campgrounds. 

Hot Artesian Springs are natural hot springs that occur when water is heated deep within the earth and rises to the surface under pressure. The high temperature and mineral content of the water has a relaxing effect on the muscles and can also help to improve circulation and soothe joint pain.

The Cunnamulla Railway Station operated between 1898, when the railway arrived in town, until it was closed to passenger trains in 1994. The station itself burnt down and was rebuilt in 1930’s.

In 2018 the Paroo Progress Association started negotiations with QLD Rail and after long years of hard work they built the new “Cunnamulla All Aboard” theatre at the western end of the railway station.

The Hebel Hotel & General Store is a classic single-storey timber structure, with a tin roof and wrap-around veranda, fronted by convenient racking rails to tie up your horse. Hebel is a tiny town in south-west Queensland, on the Castlereagh Highway, just a few kilometres on the Sunshine State side of the border with NSW. It counts around 60 residents across the district.
